We had a very happy and cold New Year. We headed out to Pigeon Forge the Tuesday before New Years. Unfort we did not check into ALL of the road conditions. We had called ahead to the mountain and heard that it was not recommended for bigger passenger cars to travel through. Since we were pulling the camper, we decided to go around the mountain. We got within 2 or 3 miles of our exit and found out that I40 was completely shut down because of a rock slide that covered both sides of the road. At this point we were set in for a long road ahead. Needless to say we left right at 1 that afternoon and we didn't actually pull into the camp site until 9:30 that night. I do believe that is one of the longest trips that we have had to PF. Once we got there it was FREEZING!!! We of course hit the stores shopping that first morning. I didn't find as many good deals as I was hoping for. I did get a couple of dresses for HB for next Christmas. On New Years Eve we had a few flurries, but nothing like we thought we would get. It was 25 for the high that day and very breezy. It was going down to the teens at night. We decided to watch a movie that night to tick away the time. It was longer than expected, so we turned the channel to Dick Clark with about 20 seconds to go. Everyone stole a new year's kiss, finished the movie, and then got a late night start to bed. After being gone for almost a week, we were glad to be back home and in our own beds. Hope that everyone has had a good start to the New Year! :)
