I am FINALLY getting to tell you about our awesome trip to Disney. We made our way out of the drive way about 9am on Tuesday hoping to get there by dinner. We had a great trip and were 30 minutes out when it all went down hill. We were pulling out of the gas station and I was with my parents in their camper and SCRAPE... we hit the gas tank on the way out and all the gas we JUST PUT IN was now leaking all over the road. Well needless to say, 2 firetrucks, 3 police cars, and the haz mat team later, we were back on the road and headed to the camp ground. Of course it was now 930pm when we were pulling in and a VERY LONG day (esp with a 10 mnth old) We set up shop and called it a night... we weren't going to let this get us down!
First thing Wed morning we hit the ground running. We were on our way to the Animal Kingdom. Soon as we got in the park we saw some characters from the Lion King, Jungle Book, and some other movie?? Hailey got her picture with some and was a little confused at first, but never got upset or scared. We made our way in and ventured around. It was very cool and so amazing to see what all they had done. We got about half way thru and found Minnie and Goofy and of course HAD to get our pictures with them! Hailey had to warm up to minnie but ABSOLUTELY LOVED Goofy!! When we were standing in line, she was holding her arm out pointing to him and grunting... eh eh eh.. like TAKE ME OVER THERE!! When we finally got to him she was all smiles and just giggling! He loved her too... even chased us when we left :) I know that Michael appreciates that ;) We then got on a train and rode over to the petting zoo and as you will see Hailey was a little tired from the big day, so Gdaddy rocked her to sleep :)
We had a fabulous first meal at Downtown Disney at a seafood place called Fulton CrabHouse. We had some great food and then went for a nice walk on the boardwalk. Hailey even got her first Minnie!
The next day was my, well I believe everyone's, absolute favorite! We went to see world and it was SO COOL and SO AMAZING at what they can teach the animals to do. We got there just in time for the dolphin show and it just blew my mind at how fast they can swim and how high they can jump. Hailey was jumping for joy with them and pointing at them laughing out loud. They let birds fly over the crowd and she was just in shock! We got some great pictures of the action. Then we made our way to the whale show, which is just beyond belief. The fact that they can get that huge animal to cooperate and learn hand signals just blows my mind. The put on a great show and SOAKED a lot of people. It was so fun to watch them in action and the relationship that they form with the handlers. Right before we left Dustin decided to ride MANTA the rollercoaster(of course by himself!) and said it was awesome... even got wet in the process :)
That night we had another fun adventure and ate at the Rain Forest Cafe! There was SO MUCH going on that HB could barely take it all in. Every 10 minutes the animals would move (elephants, birds, crocs, gorillas, etc) and every 30 minutes there was a thunder storm with rain and everything! Needless to say I didnt have to try hard at keeping her attention, not to mention the HUGE fish tanks they had EVERYWHERE!
We decided to hit the pool for a full day and soak in the sun. I could not wait to get HB in the water bc I could just tell from her baths that she was going to love the pool. Well I was right. She never took a smile off of her face from the moment we stuck her in the (cold) water! She was splashing around and just having a big time. She looked adorable in her one pc with a cover up and matching hat with sunglasses! Very sassy!;) Mom has the pictures for that, so I will have to add them at a different time. Maybe in a seperate post with the video we took as well :)
The very last night we had the most wonderful and scrumpcious dinner I have had in my life. We ate at a hawaiian family style rest. and totally stuffed ourselves. They started us with appetizers, then came with 4 diff. kinds of meat, which you could have any and as much of as you wanted! Then finished us off with a banana pudding dessert which does not sound very good but was awesome! Adam and I even got up and danced with the Hula lady! We finished our trip off right with a night view of the Magic Kingdom. It was beautiful and just a heart warming site. It can bring you back to a kid again in a second. I felt like a 5 yr old princess :) We got special treatment and got to take pictures from the 14th floor of the hotel across from it. The lady let us step out there "quickly", so sorry for all the pics but I just snapped away. It was def. an enchanted way to call it an end to the wonderful World of Disney :)
