Racing and becoming a TV Star!

We went to Adam's race at the end of April to Orangeburg, SC. It was the first race of the season (with the first one being rained out) and it was extremely hot!! Saturdays qualification temperatures we around 93!! We pulled our camper and parked with the racing crew at mom and dad's rig. We hadn't done this in a while, so it was fun to get away to the dragstrip. The week before, the doctor had told me to take it easy, so I did a lot of lounging around in the chairs outside :] Dustin had fun getting to be the main cook and cooking a great meal for us and some other racers on Friday night. Everyone enjoyed his "beer chickens" and kept going back for more. One of these days he is going to have to open up a on-the-road BBQ business!
Adam did good on Sat. with his qualifications, but then somehow picked up speed on that hot Sunday and "broke out" and the other guy won the race. So unfort, going fast didn't get him a spot in the finals. We are looking forward to the next race in Commerce the weekend of May 15-17.

While there, we heard that the TV show "Pass Time" was going to be in Commerce the following week and you could bring your car (any car) and try to get on the show. Everyone decided that it would be really cool and you get to test and tune your car, so they headed up there with four cars. Adam took his race car, our friend Mike with his race care, Dad took the S-10 that he loves, and Dustin took dad's blown Chevy II. We were shocked when we got the call from them that ALL four cars had been picked to be on the show!! We got right in the car and drove up to watch the filming of it. Dustin had to call his friend Brandon and let him know that he HAD to take this once in a life time chance, and be a little late to the wedding rehearsal! Well he was a great friend and said sure. So Dustin got to be on tv and we are waiting to hear when it will air. We will def. inform everyone when we know!!
